Ice Harbor Dam Turbine

Garrett Electric completed the replacement of a unit 2 generator turbine. This replacement consisted of pre-disassembly resistance testing, documentation of as-found conditions of electrical apparatuses, existing auxiliary electrical equipment disconnection and removal, and disassembly. The new turbine will improve the rate of fish survival and increase power generation by 3–4%. These advanced technology designs may eventually be applied to other Columbia and Snake River dams.
