equipped to handle projects of all magnitudes

Community at Garrett Electric

Garrett Electric has always believed that strong communities are built through consistent action, not just good intentions. Beyond the projects we complete on jobsites, we invest in initiatives that strengthen neighborhoods, support youth, and create opportunities for long-term growth.

Working alongside our parent company Olsson Industrial Electric, we share a belief that local businesses play an important role in shaping the places where we live and work. That belief guides how and where we give back.

Expanding Opportunity Where It’s Needed Most

Many students lack access to safe recreational spaces, structured team environments and supportive mentorship. Garrett Electric, by way of Olsson Industrial Electric, focuses its community involvement on programs that help fill those gaps, creating places where students can stay active, build confidence, and connect with positive role models.

By supporting facilities and programs that integrate athletics, nutrition, and experiential learning, we aim to help students feel included and empowered, both in school and beyond.

Supporting Youth Athletics Through Huddle Up

Garrett Electric, by way of Olsson Industrial Electric, is a supporter of Huddle Up, a nonprofit organization dedicated to removing barriers to youth sports, particularly in Title I public schools. Huddle Up partners directly with school districts to develop regulation-size athletic fields and programming designed to serve both students and the surrounding community.

The organization’s first major project, the Richard “Rich” Schwab Memorial Field at Maple Elementary, delivered a modern synthetic-turf field to Springfield Public Schools, setting a precedent for how accessible, high-quality facilities can transform school campuses and neighborhoods.

Supporting Families Beyond Athletics

Community investment extends beyond the field. School garden programs and local partnerships associated with these initiatives produce thousands of pounds of fresh food each year for local families. Distribution through Food for Lane County ensures that the harvest reaches households across the region.

In addition to addressing food access, these programs provide students with practical, hands-on learning, introducing skills like collaboration, planning, and basic food preparation that support personal development and future career pathways.

How Garrett Electric Contributes

Garrett Electric contributes through financial support, facility sponsorships, and active participation. Our team members volunteer, mentor, and collaborate with school districts, nonprofit organizations, fellow businesses, and civic leaders to help deliver complex, community-driven projects.
